Rainbow Robotics collaborative robots are classified into N, E, and U versions depending on the product generation.

· 1st generation: N version
· 2nd generation: E version
· 3rd generation: U version

The versions can also be identified by their appearance.

· N version: Features translucent plastic joint covers. (Three Phillips-head cover bolts)
· E version: Features aluminum joint covers. (Four Phillips-head cover bolts)
· U version: Features aluminum joint covers with thicker joint bands. (Four star-drive cover bolts)

No. N, E, and U versions are not compatible with one another.

Each version has a different main-cable pinout and hardware configuration between the robot and the control box. Therefore, robots and control boxes from different versions cannot be used together. For example:

· N-version control box ↔ N-version robot
· E-version control box ↔ E-version robot
· U-version control box ↔ U-version robot

The robot and control box must always be of the same version.

In addition, for high-payload models such as the RB20 and RB30, use a control box equipped with an SMPS of the appropriate capacity for the robot’s power consumption. Using a control box not recommended for the applicable model may prevent normal operation.

Rainbow Robotics collaborative robots can be used with Android smartphones and tablets, as well as Windows and Linux environments.

In the RB UI, go to Set-up → Log/Utility. Select [Import], then [Load] to view logs.

To connect a tablet to the control box, use an A-to-C cable. (Control box: USB-A port; tablet: USB-C port.)

To connect a laptop to the control box, use an Ethernet (LAN) cable rather than an A-to-C cable. Configure the control box and laptop to use the same network range (IP subnet), then connect through TCP/IP communication.
